Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking an OR Registered Nurse to support perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The role combines circulating and scrub nurse duties, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

This full-time, 36-hour-per-week position offers day shifts, a rotating schedule, and requires an RN with licensure and clinical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing or higher required; degree substitution not accepted.
• Active RN state license required.
• Clinical nursing experience 0–1 year required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; confidentiality.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and aseptic technique.
• Ability to screen and triage acute patients.

Responsibilities

• Circulating Nurse: manage perioperative care and verify patient identity, procedure, and consent.
• Scrub Nurse: prepare sterile field and provide instruments as needed.
• Assist with positioning, draping, and wound care during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor equipment and supplies.
• Document intraoperative events and outcomes in the EMR.
• Communicate with surgeons, anesthesia team, and other staff.
