Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Clinical Operation Manager Perioperative Services and the supervision of the Manager, Distribution & O/R Materials Manager, maintain an efficient and cost-effective system for material acquisition, inventory, and distribution in the Operating Room, Anesthesia, and CPD.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all operating room inventories using Lawson Material Management Information Systems.
- Order OR Supplies and develop storage solutions to meet operational goals.
- Monitor supply freshness, rotate supplies, and update par forms as needed.
- Prioritize work, communicate back orders, and ensure high standards of care and dignity.
- Apply continuous quality improvement principles and ensure proper labeling and cleanliness.
Oversight of Surgery/GI Materials Services:
- Provide new employee orientation and seek workflow improvements.
- Act as a resource, participate in product review, and oversee cost savings initiatives.
Contract Compliance:
- Participate in supply and equipment bid processes, ensure contracts are current, and coordinate with procurement for system-wide opportunities.
- Ensure contract compliance, communicate updates, and track cost savings.
Procurement and Standardization:
- Monitor capital equipment requests, coordinate procurement meetings, and prepare cost analyses.
- Develop supply sources, participate in product standardization, and manage equipment disposition.
Collaboration with Department Managers:
- Work with managers to meet department goals, communicate major changes, and report progress and savings.
- Analyze variances, implement corrective actions, and enhance delivery efficiency.
System Knowledge and Education:
- Maintain proficiency in materials management and surgical information systems.
- Educate staff on requisition and payment processes, manage invoice exceptions, and update CDM files.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent; OR Associate's degree or surgical technician training preferred.
- Experience in inventory control, material handling, and basic math skills.
Work Details:
- Shift: Days, Per Diem/Casual, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts.
- No benefits provided; unionized; non-exempt status.
