Job summary

Proliance Puget Sound Surgery Center in Lakewood, WA is seeking an Operating Room RN to perform circulating duties during surgery and assess patient care needs. The role supports pre-surgical clearances, tests, and communication of the care plan.

The position offers a 4x10 schedule, day shift (0645-1715), with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and no nights or weekends. OR experience is preferred within orthopedics. Join a collaborative surgical care team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current State licensure and CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditation.
• Two years of OR circulator experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe patient care from pre-op through post-op.
• Maintain a friendly, caring attitude toward patients, physicians and staff.
• Educate patients during the surgical process and ensure proper preparation for procedures.
• Assist in ensuring supplies, instruments and equipment are available and functioning for procedures.
• Document care accurately and maintain HIPAA-compliant records.
• Participate in ongoing departmental education to meet state requirements and safety standards.
• Support charge nurse responsibilities as staffing demands require.

Job description

Position Summary

The operating room RN performs circulating nursing duties at time of surgery. The RN assesses and evaluates the care needs of the patient, requests necessary pre-surgical clearances and diagnostics and communicates the patient’s plan of care.

Location: Proliance Puget Sound Surgery Center (Lakewood, WA)

Facility schedule: Monday through Friday (no nights, no weekends)

Hours: 4x10s, day shift, 0645-1715

Sign on bonus: $5,000

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the RN include, but are not limited to:

• Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience
• Maintain a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff
• Assist in patient education during all phases of their experience at the Center
• Assist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments and equipment are available for the procedure
• Assist in assuring that equipment is functioning properly
• Monitor use of all supplies. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.
• Document appropriately the care that is given to the patient
• Continuing education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care changes.
• Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center
• Take an active role on committees within the department
• Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety
• Performs charge nurse responsibilities as staffing demands and as requested

Education/Experience

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current State licensure and CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditation
