Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide clinical direction in an acute inpatient setting at Laurens County Hospital’s Operating Room. The role emphasizes patient/family-centered care and evidence-based nursing practices across the nursing process.

Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team is essential to develop and update care plans, monitor outcomes, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. This position may require weekend, holiday, and on-call work.

Qualifications

• Education - Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience - One year experience as a registered nurse.
• In lieu of one year RN experience, Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or comparable residency accepted.
• In lieu of Associate degree in nursing, will accept nursing diploma with licensure to practice as a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and completes nursing assessment utilizing appropriate area and/or age specific standards/policies and tools.
• Develops an individual plan of care based on the age and assessed needs of the patient.
• Updates the plan based on changes in the patient’s condition and communicates changes in the plan to other members of the team.
• Identifies realistic and measurable goals and outcomes to be attained prior to discharge.
• Provides direct care to assigned patients consistent with the established nursing plan.
• Monitors quality of care delivered on a continual basis; ensures appropriate surveillance of assigned patients.
