Headhunter Insider in Conroe, TX is seeking an OR Circulator / Nurse RN to join a dynamic surgical care team. The Circulating RN will work closely with physicians and the hospital team to ensure safe patient care before, during, and after procedures.

The role requires RN licensure in Texas (or eligibility), BLS within 30 days, and at least one year of OR Circulating experience. The position offers a full-time schedule with a competitive hourly rate and a generous sign-on bonus for a 2-year

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school of nursing with an Associates and Bachelors.
  • One year of recent OR Circulating experience required.
  • Current Texas RN license or eligible.
  • BLS required within 30 days; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the OR as Circulating RN, coordinating care with the surgical team.
  • Assess patient data to identify diagnoses and expected outcomes.
  • Coordinate and plan delivery of nursing care with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and reconcile according to plan of care.
  • Uphold infection prevention and patient confidentiality standards.

Job description

OR Circulator / Nurse RN

Location: Conroe, TX

Responsibilities
  • The Perioperative Staff RN uses the nursing process, collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of care to patients who are preparing for, have had a surgical or other invasive procedure.
  • Assessment: Conducts an ongoing and systematic collection of data, guided by the application of knowledge of physiological and psychological principles and experience, and uses the data to establish a nursing diagnosis and predict outcomes.
  • Nursing Diagnosis and Outcome Identification: Coordinates and analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnoses and establishes patient goals based on nursing diagnosis.
  • Coordinates and plans delivery of nursing care with a multidisciplinary team and administers appropriate clinical decisions in the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with the entire healthcare team to develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Delivers appropriate care to patients, at a competent level, according to the needs of the patient and population served. Implements the interventions identified in the Plan of Care.
  • Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes. Effectively communicates with physicians and other team members.
  • Provides patient/family teaching based on the needs of each patient and plans ways to meet those needs.
  • Administers and reconciles medications appropriately.
  • Adheres to infection prevention protocols.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed consent and privacy.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, problem solving and professional behavior at all times.
  • Participates in a systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, and desired client‑centered outcomes.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, competence validation; supports department‑based goals which contributed to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI.
  • Actively participates in survey readiness activities and assures that department is compliant with all regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a school of nursing with an Associates and Bachelors.
  • One year of recent OR Circulating experience required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas, or immediately eligible.
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment. CNOR certification preferred.
Hours and Compensation
  • Full-time position, 7am-3pm, about 8 days of call per month.
  • Range $45-55/hr, $20k sign‑on bonus for 2‑year commitment and a full benefits package.
What You Can Expect
  • Position located an hour from Houston.
  • Reports to the Director; there are 5 OR suites; works with a great group and reports to the Director and OR Clinical Coordinator.
  • Facility is about 120 beds, accredited, not-for-profit acute care community hospital along with the Rural Health Clinic.
