Job summary

Legent Health in Bellaire, TX is seeking an experienced RN Circulator to support patients before, during, and after surgery. You will assist the surgeon and surgical team, ensure sterility, and coordinate equipment and personnel for efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Current Registered Nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Current and active CPR certification.
• Minimum of three years OR experience.
• Cognitive skills as related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and evaluates nursing care needs before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing surgical procedures.
• Administers prescribed medications, applies dressings, and monitors vital signs.
• Maintains aseptic techniques and monitors breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinates the operating room with sterility, equipment, and supplies.
• Records care information concisely and accurately in the charting system.
• Prepares operating room for patient and procedure as needed.
• Assists in positioning and comfort/safety of the patient.
• Delivers direct surgical care by assisting physicians and providing wound exposure.
• Orients and mentors new staff and follows Standard Precautions.
