Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and evaluates the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after a surgical procedure.

• Administers prescribed medications, applies dressings, and monitors vital signs.
• Maintains aseptic techniques and monitors sterility during procedures.
• Coordinates the operating room with respect to sterility, equipment, and supplies.
• Delivers direct surgical care by assisting physicians and suturing patients when needed.
