Job summary

Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced RN - Operating Room General Team Leader to supervise the OR team, ensure efficient patient care flow, and lead quality initiatives. The role requires shifting in a high-stakes environment with 5 eight-hour shifts and on-call responsibilities.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, current RN licensure, and BLS. ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with valid state licensure (or compact) to practice.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees nursing and support staff, delegating tasks to appropriate personnel.
• Evaluates staff performance and coaches to maintain care standards.
• Coordinates patient care plans and ensures adherence to policies.
• Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families and departments.
• Monitors bed assignments and unit resource utilization to optimize flow.
• Leads infection prevention initiatives and audits for compliance.
• Responds to emergencies and provides leadership and direct care as needed.
