Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Case Cart Coordinator at Tufts Medical Center to manage case carts in support of ORs and CPD, ensuring accurate preparation of supplies and instrument tracking.

You will review the OR schedule, coordinate with nurses and surgeons, update preference cards, and maintain documentation across CPD systems to support timely surgeries.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to Sterile Processing standards, with a focus on efficient case turnover.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and CPD program completion.
• Central Processing certification (CRCST/CBSPD) required.
• Three years CPD/OR/supply chain experience preferred.
• Five years CPD/OR/supply chain experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review next-day OR schedule to pick supplies and instruments.
• Prepare case carts and resolve conflicts with OR staff.
• Coordinate turnover carts and ensure readiness for next cases.
• Return completed carts to CPD promptly.
• Ensure first-case carts for next day are ready.
• Collect data to optimize supply flow.
• Maintain turnover kit lists and instrument returns.
• Foster collaborative relationships with OR/CPD teams.
• Lead by example.
• Communicate OR needs to CPD supervisors.
• Adapt workflow to schedule changes.
• Set priorities for processing and decontamination.
• Collaborate with surgeons and nurses on instrument requests.
• Document updates in CPD records.
• Update kit count sheets and preference cards.
• Add items to CPD case carts and verify accuracy.
• Work collaboratively with OR and CPD teams.
• Inspire staff through training.
