Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an OR Cleaning Technician to maintain sterility and rapid turnover of operating rooms. The role requires following infection-control practices, cleaning, decontaminating equipment, and supporting room readiness for procedures.

Responsibilities include responding to clean-to-live turnover requests, performing terminal cleaning, disposing of waste, and maintaining room layouts. The position offers benefits and a collaborative hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education requirement is a High School diploma or GED.
• At least 3 months experience cleaning operating rooms preferred.
• Base pay depends on skills and experience; benefits included.

Responsibilities

• Maintains operating room cleaning practices and follows infection control guidelines.
• Responds to pages to clean ORs to ensure timely turnover.
• Performs between-case cleaning to ensure sterile, clean and safe rooms.
• Cleans and decontaminates equipment per procedures.
• Arranges the operating room to meet protocol.
• Performs terminal cleaning when directed, including removing portable equipment and detaching removable items.
• Collects and disposes of trash and soiled linens; replaces liners.
• Cleans and maintains OR facilities and equipment.
• Removes soiled linens and remakes beds as needed.
• Assists with moving equipment or setups as required.
• Reports broken equipment or delays.
