Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to maintain cleanliness in the operating rooms and assist with transport of patients and supplies throughout the hospital.

The role supports OR staff by cleaning ORs, offices, bathrooms and PRE-OP/PACU areas, and by preparing and moving equipment as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with BLS/CPR certification due by hire date and Surgical Cleaning Technician certification within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS/CPR certification required by date of hire.
• Surgical Cleaning Technician Certification within 1 year of hire preferred.
• Some institutional housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean environment in the Operating Rooms.
• Provide support to OR staff including cleaning ORs, offices, bathrooms, and pre-op/PACU areas.
• Transport patients and items throughout the hospital.
• Prepare, maintain and move equipment and supplies within the OR.
• Complete unit-specific and annual training and competencies on time.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and safety standards.
