Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team and surgical staff. You will help prepare and organize anesthesia equipment, set up carts, transport supplies, and assist with patient transfers and monitoring to ensure safe procedures.

The role requires ability to respond quickly in emergencies, attention to infection control, and a commitment to patient privacy and teamwork within a busy operating room environment.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Preferred 1 year anesthesia technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and organizing anesthesia equipment and supplies by reviewing surgery schedules and planning for what the team will need.
• Setting up, transporting, and maintaining anesthesia carts and equipment to keep all supplies clean and ready for safe use.
• Helping patients by assisting with transfers, positioning, preparation, and applying non-invasive monitoring devices.
• Acting quickly and confidently if an emergency happens.
• Keeping the environment clean and safe by following infection prevention and safety practices.
• Speaking openly with patients, families, and your team, always protecting patient privacy and advocating for patient rights.
