Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum CA in Banning, CA is seeking a BE/BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our outpatient primary care team. This role offers a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule with no on-call and no weekends, with dedicated staff and an average daily census of 18–20 patients.

The position includes a salary range of $238,500 to $392,500 annually plus robust benefits, loan repayment programs, relocation assistance, CME reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (BE/BC).
• Active California medical license without restrictions.
• Active California DEA license.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care for adults, including well-checks and follow-ups.
• Manage an average 18-20 patient daily census.
• Perform consultations and schedule essential screenings.
• Collaborate with dedicated nursing and medical assistant teams.
• Participate in continuing education and quality initiatives.

Position Highlights:

• Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm (no call, no weekends)
• Manage patient care in outpatient setting
• Consults, follow-up appointments, well-checks, schedule screenings
• Comfortable seeing patients of all ages; primarily adults/senior base
• Average Daily Patient Census: 18-20 patients
• Appointment schedule 40 min new pt, 20 min follow up pt visits
• Dedicated support staff of nurses and medical assistants

Required Qualifications:

• BE/BC in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Unrestricted California State Medical License
• Current California DEA certificate
• EMR Proficient

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual Spanish speaking
• 1+ year experience working in primary care

The salary range for this role is $238,500 to $392,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
