Job summary

Drexel University’s Eye Institute (TEI) invites a clinical faculty member to advance optometry education and patient care at the flagship and satellite facilities. The role combines clinical teaching with preclinical instruction aligned to the program's goals.

Responsibilities include supervising students and residents, delivering didactic and laboratory sessions, and ensuring timely medical record completion while adhering to TEI policies.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry from an accredited school.
• PA license to practice optometry with therapeutic and glaucoma privileges or license-eligible.
• Graduation from an accredited school or college of optometry.
• Residency of 1 year or longer, or 5 years equivalent clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical education to optometry students, residents and other personnel at TEI or satellites.
• Provides instruction in didactic, laboratory, small group education, and assessments.
• Provides feedback to students via Meditrek logs and participates in evaluations.
• Assists in remediation of struggling students.
• Participates in clinical round tables and faculty meetings.
• Engages in planning, preparation, and implementation of curricular content and clinical protocols.
• Engages in scholarly activity and service to University and profession.
• Ensures accurate medical records and TEI policy compliance.
