America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses is seeking an optometric technician to support the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing prior to examinations. Training is provided, and no optical experience is required at start.

You will help maintain a professional, efficient patient flow and ensure high-quality care for every patient. The role emphasizes learning ocular terminology, assisting with preliminary exams, and coordinating with the doctor and retail management to deliver a seamless

Qualifications

• Retail or optical experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Clear, concise instruction to customers.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing prior to the Doctor's examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully and identify special needs. Consult with the optician, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
• Ensure equipment, both Doctor's and pre-test, is properly maintained.
