Job summary

The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. in California seeks an Optometrist to perform routine eye care under the supervision of an exempt optometrist or designee.

You will use independent professional judgment within state laws and group policies to manage patients' vision and ocular health. Responsibilities include taking patient history, conducting testing with ophthalmic equipment, documenting findings and plans, coordinating referrals, and maintaining licensing.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited School of Optometry.
• California Optometrist license required at hire.
• Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA) may be required for external hires.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient history including chief complaint and ocular health.
• Perform testing using standard ophthalmic equipment and document findings.
• Interpret data and develop clinical impressions and plans; refer as needed.
• Coordinate with optical, ophthalmology and support staff to optimize care and service.
