Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry is required.
• Licensure as Optometrist in Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients using optometry instrumentation and techniques.
• Diagnose visual diseases and prescribe treatments within licensure.
• Prescribe and fit contact lenses.
• Refer patients to Kaiser Permanente providers for further evaluation and treatment.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology on patient care.
