Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patient's health and well-being by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options (e.g., red eye, LASIK surgery, cataract surgery) using evidence-based care guidelines. Responsibilities include delivering routine vision care, educating patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, disease management, and safety factors; recommending follow-up; consulting with other health professionals for care planning; providing referrals; and following up on diagnostics and tests.
Evaluate patients' health across the full scope of vision services, including visual acuity, eye health, and refraction, by reviewing medical history and performing comprehensive exams. Examine eyes with observation, instruments, and pharmaceuticals to identify vision defects or signs of disease. Prescribe and fit glasses, contact lenses, and other aids; interpret diagnostic tests; and provide additional treatments as needed. Develop treatment plans based on clinical presentation using evidence-based guidelines. Represent the company by delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining patient records accurately, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Support operational tasks like transactions and patient registration, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
Provide direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs, developing strategies, and supporting resource planning. Competitive salary range: $135,000 - $200,000 annually, with performance bonuses and potential regional pay adjustments. Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited school. Licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
