Job summary

Cayuse is seeking an Optometrist to provide full-scope primary optometric care in a healthcare facility, adhering to AOA guidelines and client standards. You will perform comprehensive patient evaluations, document detailed assessments, and coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities include advanced diagnostic testing, determining candidacy for refractive procedures, and strict infection control.

Qualifications

• OD degree from accredited program.
• Certification for TPAs.
• Active, unrestricted U.S. state optometry licensure.
• Minimum three years refractive surgery experience or certified residency.
• Two letters of recommendation within last two years.
• Medical clearances including vaccinations and TB screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope primary optometric care per AOA guidelines.
• Perform detailed patient evaluations: acuity, color vision, contrast, refraction, keratometry, lensometry, and ocular exams.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions with TPAs as certified.
• Document patient records with histories, diagnoses, and care plans.
• Conduct refractive surgery evaluations using topo, Pentacam, epithelial mapping, and other tests.
• Assess eligibility for LASIK, PRK, CXL, ICL, and clear lens exchange.
• Identify contraindications for refractive procedures.
• Coordinate data reporting for FDA compliance and client protocols.
• Maintain infection control and safety procedures.
• Explain results and options to patients in person and by phone.
