Job summary

Bright Family Eye Care in Indiana is seeking a part-time optometrist to perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose refractive errors, and prescribe eyeglasses, contacts, and medications. The role emphasizes building lasting patient relationships, educating patients on eye care, and promoting overall ocular health.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Establishing long term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for their visit as well their visual wants and needs.
• Instructs, recommends and advises patients as to their options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease as well as visual wants and needs.
• Ability to generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Evaluate patients for presence of diseases and refer to other providers as needed.
• Promote eye health through patient counseling and lens recommendations.
