The MedServ Group is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Optometrist to deliver eye care services to nursing home residents. The role includes conducting routine eye exams, diagnosing ocular conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses while collaborating with healthcare staff to enhance visual health.

This position requires a Doctor of Optometry degree and a current state optometry license, with a focus on working independently within a multidisciplinary team. The flexible part-time schedule allows for various compensation options based on patient volume.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current state optometry license in good standing.
• Experience working with geriatric populations preferred.
• Strong clinical diagnostic and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Part-Time Optometrist – Nursing Home

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services to residents in a nursing home and long‑term care setting. The Optometrist will perform routine and medical eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and collaborate with healthcare staff to enhance residents' visual health and quality of life.

Optometrist Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for nursing home residents.
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome, and other age‑related ocular diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and complete documentation promptly.
• Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment compliance.
• Follow VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal healthcare standards.

General Information

• Part‑time flexible schedule.
• Per patient option: $40–$45 per patient (22–25 patients per visit).
• Percentage Pay option: 35%–40% of collections (around $1050–$1200 per visit for 25 patients).
• All doctors are 1099 (independent contractors).
