Job summary

The MedServ Group is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care for residents in a nursing home and long-term care setting. The role involves routine and medical eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and prescribing eyeglasses as needed.

The Optometrist will maintain accurate EMR records, collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, follow HIPAA and federal standards, and operate as an independent contractor (1099). Flexible part-time schedule offered.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited institution.
• Current state optometry license in good standing.
• Experience with geriatric populations preferred.
• Strong clinical diagnostic and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for nursing home residents.
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions (cataracts, glaucoma, etc.).
• Prescribe eyeglasses as needed.
• Maintain accurate EMR records and documentation promptly.
• Educate patients on eye health, prevention and treatment compliance.
• Follow VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal healthcare standards.

Compensation: $1050 - 1125.00 per day (22-25 patients per visit)

Part-Time Optometrist – Nursing Home

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services to residents in a nursing home and long-term care setting. The Optometrist will perform routine and medical eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and collaborate with healthcare staff to enhance residents' visual health and quality of life.

Optometrist Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive eye examinations for nursing home residents.
• Diagnosing and managing common eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome, and other age-related ocular diseases.
• Prescribing eyeglasses as needed.
• Maintaining accurate electronic medical records and complete documentation promptly.
• Educating patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment compliance.
• Follow VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal healthcare standards.

Optometrist Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current state optometry license in good standing.
• Experience working with geriatric populations preferred.
• Strong clinical diagnostic and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.

General Information

• Part-time flexible schedule.
• Per patient Option: $45-$55 per patient (22-25 patients per visit).
• Percentage Pay Option: 35% - 40% of collections (around $1050 - $1200 per visit for 25 patients).
• All doctors are 1099 (independent contractors)
