Job summary

The MedServ Group in Hyde Park, NY is seeking an Optometrist to join our rapidly growing team serving residents in skilled nursing facilities. You will use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality eye care to an aging population, including comprehensive eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, and post-operative support.

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling (Mon-Fri, typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM).

Part Time Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per patient or 35%-40% of collections ($1050-$1250 per visit).

We are currently searching for a talented Optometrist to join our team! You will use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. The ideal Optometrist is confident, compassionate, and committed to delivering quality healthcare to the elderly population.

Optometrist Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive eye exams.
• Diagnosing and assisting in the treatment of ocular disease.
• Prescribing corrective lenses or eye medications as needed.
• Providing pre and post-operative care to surgical patients.
• Promoting healthy vision by counseling and educating patients.

Optometrist Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and active state license.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics.
• Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.

General Information

• 7-8 hours visiting patients plus paperwork.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday (typically 9:00AM-5:00PM). Flexible schedules also available.
• 22-25 patients per visit, preventative care
• Part Time Compensation: $40.00 -$45.00 per patient or 35%-40% of collections ($1050-$1250 per visit).
