Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted Connecticut optometry license (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Clinical expertise in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, and management of common ocular conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye, and refractive error.
  • Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care in clear, accessible language.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, optical staff, and other healthcare professionals in a team-based clinical setting.
  • Comfort with EHR documentation, clinical charting, and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards of care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, with a focus on building long-term relationships and promoting vision wellness.
  • Willingness to stay current with advances in optometry, diagnostic technologies, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Experience in a private practice or medical optometry setting is preferred; residency or additional training in medical or specialty optometry is a plus.

Role Description

The Optometrist is a full-time, on-site role based at Veo Vision Center in Orange, CT. This role involves performing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing ocular conditions, and prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and treatment plans tailored to each patient. The Optometrist will provide medical eye care, including co-management of conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye, and other vision or ocular health issues, while maintaining detailed and accurate clinical documentation.
