Job summary

Trinity Employment Specialists seeks a capable Optometric Technician to support examinations and routine procedures in a clinical setting. You will assist the optometrist, document patient histories, and help with testing and equipment preparation.

The role requires comfort with EMR systems, strong patient communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinic. Temporary position with potential to convert to full-time; pay ranges hourly depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, Medical Assistant, or similar clinical role preferred
• Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting strongly preferred
• Strong patient service and communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers and electronic medical records
• Ability to accurately perform clinical testing and document results
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Must be willing to complete an Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) TB blood test as a condition of employment

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrist with patient examinations and routine clinical procedures
• Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories
• Perform preliminary vision testing and other diagnostic testing as directed
• Measure visual acuity and perform refraction-related testing
• Conduct tonometry and other basic ophthalmic testing
• Perform visual field testing and retinal imaging as needed
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Assist with contact lens-related services and patient education
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
• Maintain clean, organized examination and equipment areas
• Clean and prepare ophthalmic equipment according to clinic standards
• Provide professional, compassionate patient service
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and clinic policies
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned
