Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Kirkwood, MO is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the doctor with preliminary testing and patient flow in a busy clinical setting.

You will assist with testing equipment, verify insurances, and communicate with patients, doctors, and managers. A high school diploma or GED is required, basic computer skills, and strong customer service skills; ophthalmic experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Prior medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients.
• Favorable result on background check as required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor with preliminary testing.
• Verify medical and vision insurances and document findings.
• Communicate effectively with patients, doctors and managers.
• Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.
• Operate testing equipment and maintain a clean work environment.
