Job summary

America's Best in Brunswick, GA is seeking an Optometric Technician – Medical Assistant for part-time work. In this role you will support the optometrist by conducting pre-screenings and testing to ensure smooth patient flow before examinations.

No optical experience required; training provided. We offer Sundays off and a benefits package as part of National Vision, a leading retail eyewear and eye care group.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail/optical is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge quickly.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor’s office and pre-test room.
• Understand ocular terminology and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing before doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings when eligible.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, consult when needed.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
