Job Description

The optometric technician plays a key role in maintaining efficient patient flow by assisting the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing before examinations. No optical experience or certification is required; training will be provided. Enjoy Sundays off as we are closed every Sunday!

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional environment in the office and pretest rooms.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform tests prior to doctor examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully.
• Maintain optical equipment properly.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn optical concepts and instruct customers clearly.
• Excellent organizational, detailed-oriented, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
