The optometric technician plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient patient flow by assisting the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing before examinations. No optical experience or certification is required; training will be provided!

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, and consult with team members as needed.
• Maintain equipment properly.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous retail/optical experience is preferred but not required.
