The optometric technician plays a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow by assisting the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing before examinations. The vision tests they conduct help the optometrist provide optimal care. No optical experience or certification is required; training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional environment in the office and pretest rooms.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform tests prior to examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, noting any special needs, and consult with team members when necessary.
• Maintain equipment properly.
