The optometric technician helps keep patient flow efficient by conducting pre-screenings and testing before the optometrist's examination. No optical experience or certification is required; training is provided!

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to the doctor’s examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs and consulting with team members as necessary.
• Maintain medical equipment properly.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn optical knowledge.
• Ability to instruct clearly and effectively.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
