The optometric technician helps keep patient flow efficient by conducting pre-screenings and tests before the optometrist's examination. No optical experience or certification is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, and coordinate with team members as needed.
• Maintain equipment properly.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous retail/optical experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn optical knowledge.
• Ability to instruct customers clearly.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
