Job summary

America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses is seeking an optometric technician to support patient flow and assist the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing. The role does not require prior optical certification; training is provided. Sundays off may apply in some locations.

The position emphasizes maintaining a professional office environment, accurate documentation, and clear communication with patients and colleagues to ensure high-quality eye care services.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading and speaking English and Spanish.
• Previous retail/optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Able to give instruction in a clear and concise manner to customers.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examinations and ocular terminology to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Perform exam pre-screening and review prescriptions carefully.
• Consult with optician, doctor, or management as needed.
• Maintain equipment for doctor and pre-test procedures.
