Job summary

The Optometric Technician at Target Optical creates exceptional value in patients’ lives by delivering outstanding service and ensuring the highest quality of care. You will greet guests and assist with paperwork, tests, products, and services, while supporting the optometrist and maintaining patient records.

Responsibilities include processing contact lens orders, handling invoices, operating the POS, and keeping displays neat.

Qualifications

Minimum of one-year strong guest service skills.
High School Graduate / GED or equivalent experience.
Strong communicator and listener to guests and associates.
Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient).
Sales skills and knowledge of store merchandise.
Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators.

Responsibilities

Greets guests promptly when they enter and provides service.
Explains shop process, paperwork, tests, products and services.
Reviews prescriptions and patient information with care and consults when needed.
Maintains organized patient records and proper handling of contact lens orders.
Operates the POS system and collects payment.
Keeps store displays clean, attractive, and organized.
