Compensation: $16.00–$18.00 per hour to start, with potential for growth after training and performance milestones
Schedule: Monday through Friday (some evening shifts required); No weekends

About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Optometric Technician / Assistant to support both our clinical and front office teams. This is an entry-level role with hands-on training and clear, structured responsibilities. Whether you’re new to the workforce or bringing prior experience in healthcare, retail, or customer service, we’ll help you build meaningful skills and contribute to patient care every day.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
●Collect patient histories and document in our EMR system
●Perform pretesting and diagnostic imaging using: Optos California, AdaptDx, Auto-refractor, autolensometer, ICare tonometer
●Visual fields, corneal topography, and Cirrus OCT
●Assist with contact lens fittings
●Determine and explain appropriate tests for each patient
●Present findings clearly and accurately to the doctor
●Multitask efficiently while preparing charts and equipment
Administrative and Optical Support
●Answer phones, schedule appointments, and verify insurance
●Educate patients on basic insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs
●Assist patients in selecting frames and lens options
●Support daily office operations and team coordination
Required Qualifications
●High school diploma or equivalent
●Strong communication and organizational skills
●Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems
●Comfortable interacting with patients and multitasking in a clinical setting
●Reliable transportation to our Fall River location
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
●Experience in healthcare, customer service, or administrative support
●Familiarity with medical or optometric terminology
●Interest in pursuing healthcare certifications
●Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
●Strong time management and attention to detail
●Ability to work independently and as part of a team
●Eagerness to learn and apply feedback
●Respectful, dependable, and patient-focused
Compensation and Benefits
●$16.00–$18.00 per hour to start, with potential for growth based on training and performance
