Job description

Summary:

Are you passionate about eye health and enjoy assisting individuals in achieving optimal vision? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an Optometric Technician in our eyecare center. We are seeking a dedicated individual to work closely with our optometrists and contribute to providing exceptional eye care services. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in helping patients maintain their eye health.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform designated testing on patients under the guidance of optometrists.
  • Work collaboratively with optometrists to gather relevant patient information and history.
  • Utilize prescription information, patient preferences, and lifestyle to assist in selecting appropriate eyeglasses, frames, lenses, and/or coatings.
  • Take accurate measurements of patients' facial features and optical details to ensure proper fitting before ordering eyewear.
  • Assist patients in understanding and properly using contact lenses, including cleaning, insertion, removal, and care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized optical area, exam lane, and pre-test to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required

  • High-School graduate or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Must be able to work 32-40 hours between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM
  • Available to work Saturdays

Preferred

  • Experience in a retail optical environment
  • Proficiency with computers/technology
