Job summary

Rosin Eyecare in North Naperville is seeking a full-time Optometric Technician to support doctors with patient care, testing and measurements. This position involves pre-exam workups, patient histories, contact lens activities, and maintaining inventory and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, training in ophthalmic testing is a plus, and a professional, dependable, energetic, customer-facing attitude. Join our team for a patient-focused, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in patient care promptly and professionally.
• Perform technical workups, patient histories and special testing.
• Maintain medical supply and equipment inventory.
• Maintain and clean all equipment being used. Report to Equipment Coordinator if not in working condition.
• Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies in a timely manner.
• Efficiently and accurately interview patients and documents histories.
• Assist the doctor with contact lens evaluations and training.

What we’re looking for:

Rosin Eyecare is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for an Optometric Technician position. This will be full-time position and will be located in North Naperville. If problem-solving is your forte and you have a knack for noticing the tiniest detail, we want to add you to our team!

Responsibilities/Duties will include but not limited to:

• Promptly and professionally assisting the doctor in patient care.
• Performing technical workups, patient histories and special testing.
• Responsible for maintaining medical supply and equipment inventory.
• Maintain and clean all equipment being used. Report to Equipment
• Coordinator if not in working condition.
• Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies in a timely manner.
• Efficiently and accurately interview patients and documents histories.
• Assists the doctor with contact lens evaluations.
• Safely and effectively complete contact lens insertion and removal training with patients.
• Accurately performs:

- Lensometry

- Tonometry

- Humphrey Visual Fields

- Muscle Testing

- Pupil Exams

- Topography

- OCT

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is a plus but not required.
• Candidate must be professional, dependable, energetic, customer service oriented and a team player.
