Job summary

Pediatric Dental Group & Adventure Vision in Tulsa, OK is seeking an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and help with eyewear fittings. This full-time role reports to the Lead Optometric Assistant and offers a pay range of $15.75-$17.50 per hour, plus monthly bonuses.

Responsibilities include supporting eye exams, pre-tests, scribing, patient check-in/out, and ensuring a clean, welcoming office.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a vision practice is a plus.
• Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks.
• Proficiency in EHR systems.
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks on time.
• Familiar with Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of office processes, including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection, and documentation.
• Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recalls.
• Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing patient, performing initial pre-tests, and recording results.
• Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glasses.
• Perform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and administer dilation drops.
• Help patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
• Process patient payments during check-in and check-out.
• Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc.
• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
