ELEVATED EYECARE/ Clarity Eyecare in Glendale, AZ seeks an Optometric Assistant to join its small, dedicated team at Optometry Care. The role supports full-scope primary eye care for a military community; base access can be arranged.

This long-term position offers growth opportunities; responsibilities include scheduling, pre-testing, assisting with exams, training on contacts, and maintaining rooms and equipment.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of optometric technician experience (training provided).
• Comfort with optometric equipment and exam software.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and verify insurance.
• Perform pre-testing and gather patient history.
• Assist doctor with eye exams and diagnostic tests (visual fields, OCT, fundus photos).
• Train patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies; support patient flow.

About the Role:

We’re on the lookout for a detail-oriented and dependable Optometric Assistant to join our small, dedicated team at Optometry Care! Our clinic is located inside the Exchange at Luke Air Force Base, where we provide full-scope primary eye care to a wonderful military community. Base access is not required. If you’re selected as a good fit for the role, we will arrange access for you.

This is a long-term position with opportunities to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Scheduling Appointments, Verifying Insurance
• Performing pre-testing and gathering patient history
• Assisting the doctor with eye exams and diagnostic testing (like visual fields, OCT, fundus photos, etc.)
• Training patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
• Maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and suppliesSupporting smooth patient flow throughout the day

Schedule:

3-4 days a week, including some Saturdays

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has at least 1–2 years of experience as an optometric technician (preferred, but will train the right candidate)
• Is comfortable using optometric equipment and exam software
• Is a strong communicator with a passion for patient care
• Is organized, reliable, and a team player
• Has a high school diploma (or equivalent)
