AeroVironment in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an experienced Optomechanical Engineering Manager to lead a small team delivering space-qualified hardware and subsystems for diverse R&D programs and production contracts.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on design, analysis, verification, and test, plus mentorship, staffing, and collaboration across functions to meet program goals and security requirements.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in space systems.
• Experience in structural/thermal analysis, CAD, GD&T, and space hardware design.
• Strong technical writing skills for engineering documentation and reports.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and grow a small Optomechanical engineering team (4–6 engineers).
• Support design, analysis, integration, and test of space hardware.
• Develop and communicate project schedules with clear milestones.
• Collaborate to define product requirements and verification plans.
• Review testing/analysis to ensure requirements compliance.
• Track technical performance measures and progress.
• Improve engineering processes and documentation across teams.
