Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Mechanical Engineer to bridge design and verification for opto-mechanical hardware. You will develop concepts in NX, build prototypes in the lab, and drive DVT campaigns to validate performance.

You will balance design work with hands-on assembly, perform tolerance analyses, and collaborate with optical, electrical, and thermal engineers to ensure interface integrity. This role emphasizes engineering rigor and hands-on execution.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing opto-mechanical hardware or precision mechanisms with tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of opto-mechanical hardware, fixtures, and GSE from concept to detailed design release in NX.
• Build, assemble, and integrate prototype hardware in the lab, from first-article fabrication to full system builds.
• Drive DVT planning and execution with defined test methodologies and success criteria.
• Conduct DOE to characterize hardware performance and derive design recommendations.
• Analyze DVT results to identify root causes and guide design iterations.
• Manage design data in TeamCenter with revision control and release of drawings.
• Collaborate with optical, electrical, thermal, and systems engineers to close interface requirements.
