Job summary

Impulse Space seeks an Opto-Mechanical Analysis Engineer to advance precision optical systems for spacecraft. You will lead structural and thermal analysis of opto-mechanical assemblies, ensuring launch survivability and tight alignment through vibration and thermal environments.

You will develop FEMs for flight hardware and collaborate on STOP analyses, addressing wavefront error, detector placement, and pointing requirements. Strong CAD/FEA skills and space hardware experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Physics, Optical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and thermal analysis on optical hardware.
• Develop and maintain finite element models for flight and development hardware.
• Support Structural-Thermal-Optical Performance analysis with optics engineers to understand alignment sensitivity and boresight stability.
