Job summary

Allworth Financial is seeking an experienced Options and Equity Trader to structure, execute, and monitor a broad set of options strategies, while explaining the rationale and risk to advisors and clients.

The role splits roughly 75% options management and 25% equity trading, with responsibilities for detailed record-keeping, model maintenance, and cross-training within a small team. A relevant finance degree and Series 65 are preferred. This is a full-time on-site position in Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• Three to seven years of experience with options strategies including equity, index, or derivatives.
• Ability to explain options strategies and their risk/reward clearly to a non-technical audience.
• Familiarity with multi-leg strategies and mechanics of exercise, assignment, settlement.
• Strong communication and collaboration within a small, cross-trained team.
• Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Structure, execute, and monitor a range of options strategies (covered calls, puts, collars, spreads).
• Explain strategy rationale, mechanics, and risk/reward in plain language to advisors and clients.
• Maintain detailed trade and position records and supporting models in Excel.
• Confirm account-level eligibility prior to trading (approval level, account type, restrictions).
• Monitor positions and adjust/roll strategies as conditions warrant; identify opportunities to bring execution in-house.
• Execute account-level rebalancing and approve tactical rebalances in the portfolio management system.
• Maintain trading notes, restrictions, and goals; onboard accounts into flexible models with tax budgets and cash targets.
