Intersect seeks an Optimization Engineer to build a GW-scale microgrid optimization platform that transforms real-time data, forecasts, and asset intelligence into automated ERCOT and gas market decisions. You will lead cross-functional teams with trading, engineering, and operations to deliver scalable, reliable optimization across storage, solar, wind, and load assets.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience formulating and solving optimization problems in production environments.
Experience with LP, MILP, and nonlinear optimization.
Leads technical decisions and system architecture.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain production code for optimization, bidding, simulation, and forecasting workflows.
Develop orchestration frameworks for parallelization, reliability, and reproducibility.
Guide data architecture, software design, and system reliability.
Establish patterns and tooling for scalable optimization capabilities.
Incorporate uncertainty and risk into algorithms while balancing performance and interpretability.
Collaborate with trading and operations to ensure live-market reliability.
Advance simulation tools for parameter tuning and analytics.
