Job summary

IREN is seeking a Technical Sourcing Manager, Optics & Switches, to own data center switching and optics categories. You will lead end-to-end commercial and technical ownership of the switch, transceiver, and cabling relationships that keep IREN's network current with a rapid build schedule.

The role collaborates with Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, and Program Management to lock timelines, negotiate master agreements, and drive cost savings in a high-demand market.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in technical sourcing, procurement, or category management.
• Experience sourcing networking hardware from major OEM/ODM.
• Deep understanding of switch architectures (ToR/leaf/spine) and optical transceivers.
• Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Experience navigating supply-constrained markets with mitigation strategies.
• Strong cost modeling, TCO, and forecasting skills.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, finance, and legal.

Responsibilities

• Own switch and optics sourcing relationships end-to-end: negotiations, pricing, contracting, and governance.
• Drive sourcing of top-of-rack, leaf, spine switching, optical transceivers, and DAC/AOC cabling.
• Stay ahead of supply market: monitor component allocation and pre-empt shortages.
• Partner with Network Engineering, Data Center Ops, and PM to lock sourcing timelines.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership analyses.
• Negotiate master purchase agreements, pricing, SLAs, and maintenance contracts.
• Track vendor roadmaps and shape sourcing strategy around next-gen platforms.
• Own supplier performance and quarterly business reviews; manage escalations.
• Build demand forecasts with capacity planning; time PO issuance.
• Identify cost-saving and risk-mitigation opportunities.
