Job summary

ResourceMFG is seeking an experienced Optics Fabrication Technician to join our manufacturing team. The role involves shaping, beveling, blocking, grinding, and polishing precision optical components, with attention to quality and process parameters.

Ideal candidates will read fabrication specs, perform measurements with Zygo and related tools, and maintain process slurry chemistry. Multiple shifts with pay between $20-$24/hour based on experience and shift, with benefits and weekly pay options.

Qualifications

• Experience in optics fabrication and precision machining.
• Ability to read fabrication specs and blueprints.
• Skilled in measurement and inspection using magnification tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic shaping steps on medium-difficulty parts.
• Beveling and fabricating polished, double, and asymmetric bevels.
• Block and align components using standard procedures.
• Grind and polish to required surface finish.
• Maintain Baume and pH levels for slurry processes.
• Read prints and inspect surface quality with appropriate instruments.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs basic shaping process steps on medium difficult parts.
• Beveling - capable of fabricating polished, double, and off-angle asymmetric bevels
• Blocking - pitch button, Norland transfer, steep singles, cold blocking, contacting, and alignment
• Grinding - Steep radius, cylinder, tight wedge, continuous
• Polishing - spindle, CP, double side, CNC polish
• Slurry Maintenance - maintains and measures established Baume and PH levels
• Pour pitch lap, cuts, and grooves lap
• Advanced print reading skills - can read and comprehend all fabrication specs
• Measurement skills include - Basic Zygo, understanding of fringe pattern, microscope, stereoscope, surface quality inspection, fiber light
