Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, seeks an intermediate Data Analyst/Optics Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The role involves design, development, and testing of advanced algorithms and data reduction from real-time optical sensors, with opportunities to work hands-on with land, sea, and air-based sensors.

Responsibilities include analyzing data and algorithms, performing statistical analyses, researching new methods, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, or similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of related experience.
• Master's degree in physics, engineering, or similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience with 3+ years of related experience.
• Active Secret Clearance and ability to maintain multi-object detection, association, state estimation, and tracking.
• Multi-camera geometry and image calibration.
• Data fusion and filtering.
• Strong grasp of statistics, probability, and machine learning concepts.
• Good computational software skills; experience with MATLAB, Java, C++, and Python is desired.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing data, algorithms, and their interaction to improve algorithm performance.
• Interpreting data, performing statistical analysis, and analyzing results using statistical techniques.
• Research and develop new analysis methodologies to improve analysis quality and efficiency.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Presenting analysis to peers and management.
• Exhibiting excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
