Job summary

Raytheon’s TX Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center seeks a dedicated Optics Ultra-Precision Machining Technician for 2nd shift. You will set up and operate CNC equipment to meet optical component specs, read GD&T from drawings, and work in a low-volume, high-mix environment.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent, CNC shop experience, basic programming, and US citizenship. You will use diamond turning lathes, fly cutters, and metrology equipment, while following safety rules and

Qualifications

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in a CNC machine shop environment with basic CNC programming.
Experience with cutting tools.
U.S. citizenship is required for access to information.

Responsibilities

Manufacture precision optics and components using Diamond Turning Lathes and/or Fly Cutters.
Read and interpret optical component drawings with GD&T.
Interpret interferograms, CMM reports and metrology data.
Set up and operate lathes, fly cutters, polishing equipment and other CNC/manual machinery.
Operate interferometers and coordinate measuring machines to inspect optics.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and other technicians.
Follow safety rules and keep the work area clean and organized.
Stand 80-90% and walk 10-20%; bend, lift, or carry as required.
Second Shift typically 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
