Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking an Optics Cleaner to handle, clean and inspect substrate materials, ensuring surfaces are particle-free using high-intensity light and microscope inspection.

You will load substrates into fixtures, inspect pre and post-coat optics, and keep detailed records in a controlled environment. Responsibilities include maintaining a 6S work area and adhering to PPE protocols while contributing to quality coatings and documentation.

Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

We are looking for an Optics Cleaner who will be responsible for handling, cleaning and inspecting various substrate materials, checking surfaces to be free of particles using high intensity light illumination and microscope inspection. Loading substrates into fixturing prior to coating mirrors, lens, prisms, crystals windows. You Will Make an Impact By: Review prints to check physical dimensions, checking cleaning and coating fixturing and following cleaning instruction’s / processes. Load and unload precision substrates from cleaning and coating fixturing. Inspection of optics pre and post coat. Documentation record keeping, updating reports in database. Maintain a 6S work environment. Perform daily tasks inside a controlled environment using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Skills You Bring:

• Motor skills and ability to hold small parts with provided tooling.
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment.
• Attention to detail, visual acuity, and manual dexterity.
• Experience cleaning and inspecting: Ti-Sa, BBO, LBO crystal substrates and knowledge of thin film coating process.
• Experience with ultrasonic clean line, UVO cleaning

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $21.73 - 36.21 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role. Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
