Job summary

Pearle Vision in Orland Park, IL is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver an exceptional patient experience, drive eyewear sales, and keep the store welcoming and well merchandised. We offer competitive compensation with guaranteed $22-$26 per hour, bi-weekly commission, monthly bonus, paid vacations, holidays and sick days, complimentary eyewear, and a family discount.

You’ll train on products, engage with patients to understand needs, and cooperate with colleagues to ensure patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable retail experience.
• 1–2 years in a retail environment is typical.
• Ability to use personal computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Fill eyeglass prescriptions and fit lenses/frames.
• Utilize prescriptions with patient visual requirements.
• Recommend lenses and coatings for patient needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and coordinate with prescriptions.
• Perform optical-related measurements.
• Provide guidance on Managed Vision Care.
• Ensure each store is effectively merchandised.

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sales Associate's basic function is to attract and retain patients by delivering an exceptional patient experience, fostering patient retention, and promoting outstanding doctor satisfaction.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames, including but not limited to the following:
• Utilize optical prescription in conjunction with the patient's visual requirements.
• Recommend specific lenses and lens coatings to suit patient needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, and coordinate frames with the prescription and patient needs.
• Perform appropriate optical-related measurements.
• Provide appropriate guidance to patients regarding Managed Vision Care.
• Help ensure each store is effectively merchandised.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Ability to sell through use of sales skills and accountability for sales results.
• Experience and proven results with a retail or customer service establishment.
• Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to opportunities to grow the business.
• Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed patient expectations..
• Attention to detail and follow-up
• Experience with personal computers preferred.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable experience typically achieved with a minimum of 1-2 years in a retail environment.
